Kimberly Wyatt, Principle

Kimberly Wyatt is best known as a member of the Grammy-nominated and double MTV award-winning band The Pussycat Dolls, who have sold over 56 million records to date. She also appears as ‘Sasha Small’ on the BBC and Disney Channel in Almost Never.

As head judge on Sky 1’s Got To Dance, BBC’s Taking The Next Step and Live to Dance in America, Kimberly reinforced her credentials across the world as one of the best and most influential dancers of her generation.

She began dancing at the age of 7 at White Oak Dance Academy in Missouri and as a child, won regional titles such as Miss Dance of America as well as competing as part of a dance troupe. She also accepted scholarships at the prestigious Joffrey Ballet, Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Centre in New York City. She excelled in styles such as Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Street, and Acrobats.

She began her professional career dancing on Cruise Ships, she then featured at the MTV Music Awards, Pink music video, and movies such as 13 going on 30 and Starsky & Hutch.

As an ambassador for the Youth Sports Trust, she has helped to bring dance into primary schools across the UK. Most recently she performed the halftime show at the Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

She began teaching 20 years ago in Los Angeles because every audition she was asked to attend required heels and no classes offered training in heels. She developed her signature BRING YOUR HEELS method and continued teaching around the world focusing on technique, stamina, and strength.

Her passion for dance is endless and her desire to share her own experiences of dance to others a life-long pursuit. Her story is full of examples of dance working as emotional, physical and mental support as well as a lucrative career.

Kimberly is a visible and active member of the academy, both teaching and as a presence within the academy community.
