At KWDA we place value in improvement towards potential.

We believe the experiences gained in our studios will help develop dancers for their lives ahead, whether they become working dancers or otherwise. We recognise this development at the end of each year at The Stars Ceremony, held after our summer showcase.

Dancers are recognised for their commitment to Principal Kimberly's pledge to:

  1. Never say I can't

  2. Always say I'll try

  3. Do you best

For simply committing to that pledge dancers are awarded a SILVER STAR and we encourage the collection of as many stars as possible throughout their time with KWDA, to chart their journey and development with us.

For dancers who extend themselves further, whether it be in a single stand-out moment or a consistent and outstanding development over time, we award the coveted GOLD STAR.

And finally, we hold two KWDA shows per year and we hope to ensure everyone who is willing to take part has a place on stage. For each show dance captains, from each age group will be appointed based on their leadership, consistency, discipline and embodiment of the KWDA values.

This is considered a huge honour and captains are presented with badges to be worn with pride and kept as a momento from their KWDA journey.
